At the beginning of November, TSMC has sent 300 employees to charter flights to the United States. In the next few months, there will be six more charter flights, bringing a total of more than 1000 engineers and their families to the United States.

According to Business Week, a Taiwan media report, the engineers sent by TSMC to the United States are not only the main force of the company's Arizona wafer factory, but also the key talents to revitalize the semiconductor industry in the United States.

It is reported that TSMC's Arizona wafer factory will hold the "first machine relocation" ceremony in early December. According to market news, TSMC will invite US President Biden to attend. TSMC did not confirm this, but said that in December, it planned to invite guests including customers, suppliers, academics and government representatives to celebrate the important milestone of the first batch of machinery and equipment arriving at the factory.

TSMC pointed out that with the arrival of machinery and equipment, the plant has been partially completed. Next, it will be ready to move into the first batch of cutting-edge equipment for semiconductor manufacturing; The construction of Arizona 5nm Plant started about 18 months ago, and the construction progress is expected to start mass production in 2024, with a monthly capacity of 20000 pieces.

This "settlement" of TSMC has also brought significant benefits to the local area. The Phoenix Economic Development Council (GPEC) estimated that the factory will create nearly 4300 direct and indirect jobs in 10 years, which is equivalent to an increase of 20% in the number of semiconductor jobs in the region. At the same time, the local housing price also "rose with the tide". According to the survey, the median housing price in Phoenix has risen from 290000 dollars in 2020 to nearly 450000 dollars in October this year.
